About me!
About me!
Hi. I guess I should let you know a little about me. I'm a 38-year-old mother of a teenager, wife of a very handsome man and owner of a smoothie shop. I am also an aspiring writer. I have a childrens series written and which I am now attempting to publish, but I write for adults too. I like to touch the heart, make you laugh or gasp in surprise.
Since it is the political season, you can expect some very biased and opinionated pieces from me. I am a self described conservative Democrat or liberal Republican. I believe in smaller government that also stays out of my personal life. I don't think the government has any business telling anyone what they can put into or take of their own body, who they can love or marry, how they can best relieve their own pain or even when they should die. I think our system is way too soft on crime and the excuses such as "I didn't have a Daddy growing up," and "I was abused, molested, etc." are no excuses at all. People need to take responsibility for their actions and know that there are real consequenses for their crimes. I think every child molestor deserves to die a slow, torturous, hellish death- EVERY SINGLE ONE. The fact thta the courts don't think that child molestation is a capital crime absolutely boggles my mind. I don't think religion has any place in politics. Religon is very personal and very much an opinion. People came to this country to get away from being told what religion they would have to follow, yet now, we have people in the highest levels of governnment who want to make laws based on their personal, religious beliefs and who, I'm quite sure, would love to mandate that the USA is a Christian nation and must follow the Biblical laws (or at least the laws they choose to believe in and not those other pesky ones that are just interpretations and don't count.) I can't stand hypocrits and liars. The 'do-as-I-say-but-not-as-I-do' mentality is pervasive in Washington and throughout state and local levels of government.
I am definitely not undecided in this election. I think McCain/Palin would be another 8 years of Bush. Sarah Palin, to me, is downright scary and the thought of her having to take over for McCain (which is very likely) absolutely terrifies me. I think that Obama/Biden is the only route for any true change. I am not naive. I know that if they get in office, the problems we face today will not change right away, if ever, but I also know that McCain is promising to carry on the same failed policies as Bush and keeping us entrenched in this war 'for the next 100 years' if necessary and that will further drag down this country.
So now you know a little about me. I can tell more, but I think I'll let you discover that through my writing.
